62 Core Facade Design Workshop

Year: 2022 Location: Samsun University Ballıca Campus

The students initially designed the facades on the steel cubes at Samsun University Ballıca Campus. Various facade designs emerged by applying these designed facades one-to-one by the students using wooden materials.

AAC Wall Workshop

Year: 2022 Location: Samsun University Ballıca Campus Wood and Iron Atelier

In the autoclaved aerated concrete (AAC) wall workshop organized in partnership with Arkoz Gazbeton Samsun, students participated in a presentation on aerated concrete material by Arkoz company. Afterwards, partition walls in the wood and iron atelier hangar were applied by our students using aerated concrete material.

Structure Model Workshop

Year: 2023 Location: Samsun University Ballıca Campus Wood and Iron Atelier

In the wood workshop, 36 students made 1/20 scale structure models of 9 modern wooden buildings. The examples were selected from different parts of the world. Various wooden joint details and different working principles in the projects were modelled and discussed.

Küme’s Design and Implementation Workshop

Year: 2023 Location: Samsun University Ballıca Campus Wood and Iron Atelier, Nature and Science School Ondokuzmayıs district

This study, which took place between 10-31 July 2023, focuses on the coexistence and encounter of children and coops. A team of 15 people from the department of Architecture built a 1/1 scale chicken coop for the Nature and Science School in Ondokuzmayıs district.

‘Evolution of Housing’ Joint Project Workshop

Year: 2022 Location: Samsun University Ballıca Campus, Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University Faculty of Architecture and Fine Arts

Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University Department of Architecture and Samsun University Department of Architecture collaborated for a joint project workshop and forum organization. For the semester kick-off, faculty members and students from both universities gathered in Samsun on October the 10th for a field trip and the first part of the ‘Evolution of Housing: Past, Present and Future Forum’ hosted by Samsun University. Following the final jury, the second part of the Forum and the closing event were held on January 13-14 at Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University Faculty of Architecture and Fine Arts.

Düşün’ce Reading Group

Year: 2023-devam  Location: Samsun University Ballıca Campus

The reading group, which was formed in 2023 with students from the Department of Architecture, has 3 phases. The first of these is Journal Readings; it contains readings of architecture journals compiled between 1933-2021. The second is Research and Practice in Digital Design; it is an examination of current research routes in architecture. Thirdly, Meet and Greet; it is a multifaceted approach to studies in the field of architecture and outside the field.
